Greta and Jesper from Bornholm Runners participated in the 3rd Mazury Marathon event on June 14th 2014. Greta ran her first 10 km while Jesper finished his 10th marathon.
Weather was cold and rainy so the conditions certainly not optimal when the start took place. The routes on other side were fantastic in pictures Mazury lake area and can for sure be recommended for other runners in the coming year.
Greta had a good run and had no problems with her first 10 km run. Jesper made it fine during the first 28 km but from that point his knees start to hurt and he had to walk the rest of the route. Only the promised donation from the company Espersen on Bornholm made him to the finish line after some 5 hours.
Espersen from Bornholm had before the run promised to sponsor the Gdynia Children Hospice 0,10 PLN per meter Greta and Jesper would run during this event. After together finishing 52195 meter it means that Espersen will donate PLN 5220 for the hospice in Gdynia.!
Bornholm Runners would like to thank Espersen for their donation and we hope other companies will follow the good initiative. The aim of Bornholm Runners is to raise money for children suffering from life threatening illnesses and here the newly opened Hospice in Gdynia certainly is the right place to support.
